SOLAR POWER

MyBanLao Hotel takes immense pride in leading the charge as the first and only establishment in Luang Prabang to embrace the transformative potential of solar power. Our Solar Power Energy project stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship.

With a firm resolve to succeed, our team has embarked on a journey to harness the boundless energy of the sun through the strategic installation of solar panels and battery infrastructure throughout our property.

Our fascination with solar power stems from recognizing the natural bounty that Laos offers—year-round sunshine and unparalleled brightness—making it an ideal setting for solar energy utilization.

SOLAR POWER INTEGRATION

We've strategically installed 120 solar panels above our main buildings and parking lots to generate energy, which is then collected in our battery room and circulated throughout the property.

Moreover, our equipment such as light bulbs, mosquito traps, and decorative lamps are equipped with small built-in solar panels. These panels harness solar power to independently operate the equipment, showcasing to our customers the efficiency of solar energy utilization, by integrating solar energy into multiple facets of our operations.

SOLAR POWER PERFORMANCE

Our solar power project, boasting 120 panels positioned above our buildings and parking lots, yields an estimated daily generation of 150 kWh over a 06-hour period. With this sustainable performance, we're able to achieve an average monthly output ranging from 4700 to 5000 kWh, contingent upon weather conditions and seasonal shifts.

This consistent performance underscores the success of our solar initiative, enabling us to make substantial reductions in our carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. On average, we're able to decrease our CO2e output by 2500 kg each month. This tangible impact reflects our steadfast commitment to environmental preservation and underscores our role in fostering a cleaner, greener future for our planet.

Turtle and Tortoise Journey

MyBanLao is home to 8 species of 40-50 endangered and critically endangered turtles and tortoises. These testudines are safe here in this mini sanctuary. We have recreated a habitat for them that matches their natural world, including maintaining a very specific diet.

Each species has different dietary needs which we strictly adhere to with the objective of giving them the best chance to breed and leading them on a path to survival. They are fed three times per week and most of their diet includes fruits, fish, and vegetables.
